The Art of Cultivation
How much do you truly believe in your capability to impact the world? That is up to you to decide, but my dear friend I must say; YOUR POTENTIAL IS ENDLESS. I hope today as you read this, you come to terms with yourself and believe in the power of creation you have. Bigger than the power of creation, is the power of captivation. Here are my tips to help you make your goals come alive.
I’m sure you have brilliant thoughts that run through you mind on the daily. But how do you capture these ideas that float around, to create the vision you see. Well, if it was that easy, everyone would do it. Considering it takes long hours of devotion and dedication to make something thrive, I suggest setting aside time to captivate your ideas.
1. BELIEF
The first step to action, is believing in what you are doing. What is your why? If you aren’t even on board with it fully, then why would anyone else be? If you truly believe in your idea from the depth of your being, you WILL find a way.
ACTION. I want you to evaluate every day why you want to captivate this idea. Why is it important to you? Write a bit on it daily to keep you motivated. How has it changed your life, and how you see it helping others?
2. DEVOTION
COMMITMENT= HARD. It is not sunshine and rainbows my dear friends! It’s sweat tears and ripping out your hair for a hot moment, but that’s what makes it worth it. Just like believing in yourself that this is what you were created for and able to do = essence of creation. Devotion is also a vital component in the mix of it all.
How much time are you willing to set aside to make this your livelihood. I have multiple things I want to come alive, for example. THIS BLOG. For the longest time, I didn’t believe that anyone would really care to hear my thoughts. That unbelief resulted in a lack of action resulting in a lack of confidence. I am right there with all of you who are walking through this. These are my first steps in walking forward past all the critical thoughts and overcoming the fear of failure. Failing is a great way to learn, point blank, but it is hard to let go of ego. Just remember ego never served you well to begin with. Drop the pennies and it’ll be easier to receive the gold.
ACTION: WHILE YOU TAKE THAT TIME to remind yourself why you believe in this vision, devote time to put things in action. Action overall is the next step that will make it happen. Believing= momentum and action is your foot on the pedal. Also do daily exercise to let go of your ego, whether that be walking in your neighborhood picking up trash or asking your neighbor for sugar. Do it, build connections, and devote to growth/action.
3. GET UNCOMFORTABLE
If you live in the North like I do, you understand how hard it could be to get out of bed in the winter. It’s frigid and your bed is toasty. Trust me, I reign with blankets. Fortunately and unfortunately, I NEED TO GET MY ASS MOVING. Even if that means violently clashing my teeth together for 45 minutes and using a blow dryer to warm up my feet. If I don’t move in that moment, my muscles would atrophy; that’s how much I disliked the cold. Realistically, I’ve had to overcome this paralyzing need for comfort. That is because I WOULD BE A STR8 VEG DURING THE WINTER. Guys, this is just a physical way I’ve lived comfortably.
Think about the winter you have in your mind and how it has atrophied your ideas and jaded your life. Deep down, I didn’t hate the cold as much as I priced it. It was the pure fact that I was lazy and didn’t want to leave a place I felt safe.
Psychologically, this makes sense; considering our brain wants to keep us alive. Check out this quote by Mel Robbins. “Hesitation is the kiss of death. You might hesitate for a just nanosecond, but that’s all it takes. That one small hesitation triggers a mental system that’s designed to stop you. And it happens in less than—you guessed it—five seconds.”

ACTION: Say hello to someone who is sitting next to you, ask someone for their phone number “Even if you have a significant other or not.” You don’t need to take action with number, it’s just an exercise to get out there and BE SHAMELESS. Tell someone something you’ve always wanted to, even if it scares you. Ask someone for advice. APPLY TO THAT JOB YOU’VE BEEN WANTING TO EVEN IF YOU AREN’T QUALIFIED FOR. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE!!?
